Xmas Marketing With Email
With Christmas less than three months away here are 7 tips to help with your email marketing;
1. Reward your subscribers for their loyalty!
A really good reward is a Gift card. What you could do, is create a promotion that encourages people to buy either online, or physically come into your business. For example you could offer them a $10.00 gift card for every $50.00 they spend which they can use with their next purchase from your business.
Gift cards are a great idea for those people who have everything, they are handy to have as a last minute gift and for the unexpected gift. Make gift cards a feature of your holiday emails
2 Remind your clients of what you do best
Remind them of your great customer service, your money-back guarantee, your hassle-free return policy, your top quality products or whatever it is that makes you stand out from your competition. Give them a clear call to action ie. tell them what you want them to do. You would be amazed at how many of your competitors fail to do this.
3. Unexpected customer service
If you have a website where your customers can purchase your goods and services, blow them away by including “livechat technology” as part of your customer service policy, this is a fantastic way to engage your website visitors and email subscribers. and once again most of your competitors will not be doing this. Personally, I always look for the livechat function when buying online, it makes me feel much more secure, and that am dealing with a reputable company.
4. Delivery deadlines
If you are selling you goods and services online, then don’t forget to include the delivery date so that your clients know how much time they have to purchase and make sure that the gift is delivered on time especially any international purchasers.
5. Quality versus quantity!
I know that Christmas is a busy time for most companies but are you providing quality and not just quantity? If you are sending out mindless sales letters to all of your clients then you are maximizing the perception of being a spammer, and many of your hard earned clients will unsubscribe from your list.
6.Segmenting!
In order to overcome the problems associated with spamming and understanding that you have a lot of information you want to get out to your subscribers, it’s vitally important that you are able to monitor the number of emails received by your subscribers. You can do this by segmenting.
7. Go for quality of send versus quantity of send.
If you sell sporting goods and have an email marketing campaign for fishing equipement, then don”t send fishing information to a golfer who is considering buying a new set of golf clubs unless you know the golfer is also a fisherman.

Email Marketing A Call To Action Do You Tell Your Customers What To Do ?
I recently received an email from a local Canberra company I subscribe to about a sale they were having on their products. I like the email newsletters that I received from this company, they are always full of valuable information so I was more than a little surprised to discover there was no way I could purchase any of the products on sale.
They were no links, no shopping cart, no “buy now” button, there was nowhere to click for any of the products. How was I supposed to buy anything?
This is one of the major mistakes email marketer make in their campaigns just because the purpose of email marketing is to build comfortable relationships with our clients, does not mean that we cannot inform them that we have products to sell, we just do it in a more subtle manner.
A very effective way to have an online sale, is to prepare your clients, let then know that you are having a sale in a few weeks, a couple of weeks etc and over a period of time build the excitement in your newsletter, so that when you are ready to start your sale you can blast out a special email marketing campaign to your clients without them getting upset.
